Nancy McCullen collaborates with teachers as an Instructional Coach to provide job-embedded professional development. She began her teaching career in Albemarle County Public Schools 18 years ago as a second grade teacher. Since then she has served as a literacy specialist, technology integration resource specialist, novice-teacher mentor and instructional coach. Committed to participating in and learning about instructional practices that engage students in authentic learning, she achieved National Educational Technology Standards for Teachers Certification, National Educational Technology Standards Evaluator Certification and published an instructional kit as an America on the World Stage Master Teacher. Through her work with teachers, she strives to foster a culture of collaboration, reflection and public practice. In her desire to improve the quality of education for all students, she is currently enrolled in James Madison University’s Educational Leadership Certificate program seeking an endorsement in school administration and supervision.
