ChronoCards: the American Revolution
PROJECT SUMMARY: The Chrono Cards: American Revolution project is a set of two card games that utilizes digital media to guide middle school students in their demonstration of historical knowledge and practice of historical thinking skills. The historical content of the games covers the causes and early events of the American Revolution. Accompanying the games are a series of curricular supports that help teachers contextualize the games and use them most effectively. The teacher aids also include activities that integrate the games with the ChronoZoom timeline visualization tool from Microsoft Research. These activities give teachers new interactive options for presenting
information about the American Revolution and facilitating historical thinking in the classroom.
