Jamie Craft teaches Ancient and Modern World History at George Washington High School in Danville, Virginia. Craft has taught in a variety of settings including Global Village Focus School, alternative education, and is currently the History teacher assigned to supervise all Social Studies students in the Twilight Program an evening school placement for students who are in need of an individualized educational option. She is a member of the ESL team of George Washington High school and works closely with the ESL teachers to insure the success of English language learners in history content courses. In 2012 she was recognized as the Educator of the Year for Langston Focus School by the Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce. Her experiences include three years of participation in the American Origins Teaching Fellowship program entitled “Hidden Histories in Our Midst”, including one year as a field historian in this program. She also served on the curriculum development team for the Thomas Jefferson Foundation’s Liberty Today Project at Monticello.
