Jeff Nesbitt first became involved with NCOBS as a logistics coordinator at Cedar Rock basecamp on 2004, and later became an instructor working in the Florida Everglades, North Carolina Outer Banks, and The Bahamas. After working with the school for four years, he moved to South Carolina where he earned a Master of Arts in Teaching from Clemson University in 2009. Jeff taught 6th, 7th and 8th grades in social studies and language arts at a public middle school in Greenville, SC for 3 years before moving to the Triangle in 2012. After teaching middle school in Wake County for two years and seeking out more democratic, engaging, and experiential way to teach social studies, Jeff decided to continue his studies at the University of North Carolina. Jeff is now pursuing a doctorate in education focused on teacher education, social studies education, and the ways in which experiential methods might be better utilized in teacher preparation. Jeff lives in Raleigh with his wife Annie Lloyd and their two children.
