Rod Powell is a National Board Certified Teacher (Adolescent and Young Adult Social Studies) who has been teaching for 28 years. He holds a Master of Arts in Gifted Education and is currently teaching at Mooresville High School in Mooresville NC. His current teaching responsibilities include World and US History. Rod is a member of the Center for Teaching Quality’s Collaboratory and is one of the Virtual Community Organizers for the CTQ NC lab for Common Core implementation. His collaboration with the Center for Teaching Quality has included work with the Integrating Common Core Standards team and has led to contributions to EdWeek blogs and articles published in Southeastern Educators Network and Phi Delta Kappan magazines. Rod is also involved with the Literacy Design Collaborative as a module creator and juror.
