Richey Faculty DirectoryDuke Richey is the Sen. Howard Baker ’43 Chair of American History at McCallie School in Chattanooga, Tennessee. After college at Sewanee, Duke spent much of the 1990s working as an NCOBS instructor in both the mountains of North Carolina and in the Florida Everglades. Knowing that graduate school was going to take a very long time and that skiing would keep him sane, Duke headed to the Rockies. He has masters degrees in History and in Environmental Studies from the University of Montana and a Ph.D. in History from the University of Colorado. Prior to teaching at McCallie, he taught at Whitman College, Pacific Lutheran University, and at the University of North Texas. He and his wife, Sarah, have three children: Duke, 14 (a recent NCOBS alum), Emmy, 12, and Ward, 9.
